Building a Stronger Community: Warren County Habitat for Humanity

Habitat2 The Warren Habitat for Humanity organization is active again. Construction of a new home began April 26 with the foundation laid the following week. Volunteer labor cuts the cost of building in half and turns one more family into homeowners. In addition to providing a permanent home, it increases the local tax base in a sustainable way. This home may be the only new house currently under construction in the city.

Heating for the home will be provided by radiant technique with all the heating elements inside the concrete slab foundation. Placement of the high-efficiency, "green" heating system is scheduled for Saturday, June 7.

Comments

I have always been a firm believer in the Habitat for Humanity project and am pleased to see Warren is participating in the project. I'll have to keep an eye on the houses progress

On Saturday they installed the major plumbing pipes for the bath and kitchen. Maybe next week I'll have some shots of the unusual radiant heating system that goes into the foundation. I've never seen anything like it so it might be interesting.
