Local Presidential Primary Results

The two local congressional districts to which Warren County contributed votes for the April 22, 2008 Democratic presidential primary nearly split the delegates awarded to Clinton and Obama. Of the nine delegates apportioned to these two congressional districts, Clinton received 5 and Obama received 4. This was a net gain of 1 delegate for Clinton from local voters.

Warren County has two congressional districts which contributed delegates to the Democratic National Convention to be held in Denver, Colorado in August. Based on results reported so far, the Third Congressional District vote for the Democratic presidential nomination was 68,332 for Clinton and 36,832 for Obama, with 100% of the precincts reporting. For the Third Congressional District, Clinton was awarded 3 delegates and Obama was awarded 2 delegates.

In the Fifth Congressional District, Clinton received 41,686 and Obama 30,736, with 90% of the precincts reporting. So far in this congressional district, Clinton was awarded 2 delegates and Obama also received 2 delegates. These figures are based on a report from USA Today.
