A therapeutic horseback riding ranch, serving the needs of the disabled, rises today on the Allegheny High Plateau in Russell, PA.
Horses with a view.
The 27 equines living at the Double Rainbow Farm in Russell, PA at the top of Thompson Hill Road, will soon have a new home before summer is over, according to co-founder Milton Wallace. A bulldozer in the distance is cutting a new driveway to allow heavier equipment in.
The finished barn will be accompanied by an indoor pavilion to allow riding in all weather.
The three-year-old non-profit facility also features a well-stocked natural pond, llamas, chickens, a mountain goat, miniature horses, a mature apple orchard, many friendly dogs and cats, and a really big sky. Thompson Hill Road is located off of 957 across the street from Eisenhower Middle and High School.
