According to a 2004 report by the state, there are almost no community-based services in Pennsylvania for adults
living with Autism Spectrum Disorders. In response, the state's Autism Task
Force recommended the development of targeted supports and services
designed specifically for adults living with autism.

Author Rosenthal talked about her book Wednesday night at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History in Jamestown, NY.
Classmates at Jamestown High School might not have thought of Roger Tory Peterson as the most popular kid in school. He came from a poor Swedish family and showed up late for class, on the days he wasn't completely truant which was frequently the case. When he did attend, he usually fell asleep at his desk. He left school as soon as he could at age 16 and got a job working in a furniture factory.

The haying season is late this year with all the rain but we have
had several days of sun and warm weather so the hay wagons were passing
the house every hour making up for lost time and making sure the crop
would be brought in before the next rain.
Haying season in NW Pa brings back many memories. As a child I
helped the neighbors bring in hay and it’s a tough job. Often after a
hard days work we would have dinner at the farm where we helped.
There were usually stories that brought laughter and sometimes
events that you looked back on with horror. The worst event I
remembered was when the one wagon flipped.

As the garden season picks up you may notice fruit and vegetable
stands opening. I grow as much of my own produce in the warmer months
as possible but it’s impossible to grow it all, so fruit and vegetable
stands become one of my favorite stops in the summer.
In my Warren County area there are two local garden markets,
numerous small roadside markets and often times neighbors will just set
out their extra produce for sale or for free.
